Andy has a business background; he spent 22 years at Mars Incorporated, the global market leader in chocolate & pet care, working in senior management & leadership roles across a wide variety of countries.

Andy's specialisms were building profitable businesses in emerging markets and the turnaround of challenging business units. After leaving Mars, Andy went on to establish the Middle East business unit for a global training company.

Andy has Lived Experience of substance misuse disorder (alcoholism) and has been a Service User of multiple statutory substance misuse & probation services across the U.K. Andy has been in recovery for several years and joined The Well Communities in early 2022 to establish our operations in Carlisle and drive the development of a sustainable recovery community in the city. Andy is a Cumbrian and holds a B.A. (Hons) in Politics & Sociology from Durham University.
